CUSTOM 'WALUNG' HANDPRINTED SHEER SILK GOWN

Inspired by a silcrete stone flake artefact illustration recorded while mapping cultural heritage on Country to protect and preserve for future generations. Walumarra project is a biproduct of First Nations cultural heritage advocacy in collaboration with First Nations owned and operated Murrumbidgee Archaeology.

This gown is made with almost 6 metres of handprinted fabric and handmade by mob on Wiradjuri Country in rural NSW. Featuring a zero waste pattern, long draped one shoulder sleeve, train and adjustable side split. This gown can be worn and styled in multiple ways to extend the life of the garment.

The Walung gown is made to order taking a 12 hours to complete from hand printing, curing, ironing, cutting and constructing. 

50% of sales from the Walumarra collection is going toward the establishment of an independent Not for profit First Nations fashion and textiles house that provides employment and training to First Nations mob wanting a pathway in fashion and textiles in rural NSW where no opportunity is currently available. Our longterm goal is always self determination and autonomy in First Nations fashion and Design.

Cassie is 170cm tall and wears a size 8 aud, and is wearing a size small.
